I love being a mother. It is the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done. I feel so blessed to have this privilege and am so grateful for all the wonderful mothers I have in my life. Here's to all you incredible women out there doing the little things each day that make all the difference.

Being married to a photographer means you are often being posed and practiced on, the light-tester, and the subject of the last few pictures of most every roll of film that needs to be exposed and sent off to the lab. My husband is no exception. He is a great sport, and one handsome man. Not to mention a dead ringer for Adrien Brody in the Darjeeling Limited... ;)

Picture A Christmas

I was looking through all the fun pictures of our family and friends from the past year, and I thought how could I remember all the wonderful times we have had over the past 12 months? 

Then it hit me- put them up on the Christmas tree!!

I even put some across our mantle and on the other small trees in our living room. So we are surrounded by faces of our family and friends and all the fun things we have done this year. I love looking around and seeing my kids' silly faces, my relatives that came to visit, adventures we had, and even a lizard that my son caught. It was the perfect way to celebrate Christmas, family, and the year we spent together.

I picked my 50 favorite pictures

Cropped them to 2 1/2 inches and put a 1/4 inch white border around them

Printed them out

Stuck them on some twisty ornament hangers from Hobby Lobby

And hung them up

Viola!

San Francisco

A few months ago, I had the honor of photographing the funeral of my grandfather in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was an incredible man who lived a life of serving others- from his parents, to his country, his wife and children, to neighbors and friends, and especially his grandchildren. I am humbled to be part of his wonderful legacy. I love you PapPap.

Film

I have upped my game. I am now shooting FILM!!! And I love it. It is so much more rewarding and there is just something about it that makes for amazing quality. It has texture and grain and rich color. Film is not dead. And I am in love.
